Meghan Steals the Spotlight Again as Prince Harry Fades into the Background

It seems Prince Harry’s star power just isn’t what it used to be. According to royal expert Pandora Forsyth, the Duke of Sussex has taken a noticeable step back while Meghan Markle continues to dominate the headlines.

Not so long ago, Harry was front and centre of royal coverage. Back in 2018, his every move sparked headlines around the globe. Whether it was a public appearance or a heartfelt speech, he was leading the narrative. But fast forward to now, and things have definitely shifted.

“If you think back to a few years ago, if Harry was appearing in New York, it would be sort of like front page headlines,” Forsyth explained. “But he does so many of these conferences and appearances now, it sort of seeps into the background”, reported the Express.

Harry hasn’t stopped working, and his focus remains on causes close to his heart. One of those is mental health, especially among children and teens who have tragically taken their own lives due to online abuse. It’s a cause he’s spoken passionately about for years. But Forsyth feels that he may be relying too heavily on the same messaging from the past.

“He is trying as best he can to link back to actually quite a noble cause, which is children who have unfortunately and very tragically committed suicide… part of the reason is because of online trolling. But this was in 2018, and if he keeps on linking it back to this, then I sort of think it takes away from the really important matter at hand.”

While Harry remains committed to the work, the public gaze seems to be drifting elsewhere — specifically to Meghan. The former Suits star continues to be a magnet for media attention, whether it’s through her various public appearances, business ventures or upcoming projects. And it hasn’t gone unnoticed.

“And now the headline is actually Meghan. And not that,” Forsyth added, hinting at how the focus has shifted from Harry’s causes to whatever Meghan’s currently involved in.

It’s not the first time the couple’s public roles have sparked debate. Since stepping back from official royal duties, the Sussexes have carved their own paths, often appearing at events together but also pursuing solo ventures. Meghan’s name, however, continues to make waves in both the entertainment and political spheres — and that leaves Harry in a different spot than where he started.

While he’s still clearly passionate about his work and the issues he cares about, it appears his visibility has been somewhat overshadowed by his wife’s growing influence. Whether that balance will shift again remains to be seen, but for now, Meghan is the one making most of the headlines.
