Chilling New Details Emerge as Jay Slater’s Friend Admits She Had No Idea Who He Left With

Fresh questions have been raised in the tragic case of Jay Slater after his close friend made a startling admission about the night he disappeared. The 19-year-old from Lancashire went missing after a music festival in Tenerife last year, sparking a massive search effort that lasted nearly a month before his body was found.

Jay was last seen leaving the Papagayo nightclub in Playa de las Americas on June 16. It’s believed he left the club with two men and travelled to an Airbnb in the north of the island. But from that point, things took a worrying turn. He vanished and was officially reported missing two days later on June 18.

Speaking to former detective Mark Williams-Thomas, who assisted Jay’s family during the investigation, Jay’s friend Lucy Law admitted she didn’t know the two men he left the nightclub with. “I have no idea. I don’t know who they are! How would I know who they are?” she said, reported Mirror.

Williams-Thomas seemed stunned, responding, “But you don’t just pass people in a coffee shop and spend two nights with them, and then Jay gets in a car with them. Why were they staying so far away?” Lucy answered simply, “I don’t know. I had never met these people in my life”, reported the Express.

She went on to say that when she first tried to report Jay missing, the local police didn’t take her seriously. “Police kept ending the phone on me, they weren’t taking me seriously,” she explained. “I ran down to a taxi rank and went to the nearest police station. I went in and they gave me this piece of paper that said ‘go on this website’ but I can’t remember what else was on there.”

Lucy also told Williams-Thomas how she tried to find the Airbnb herself after Jay contacted her and said he was in trouble. When asked how she even knew where to look, she said, “Because he uploaded a video on his Snapchat story, there was a cigarette, a white car… I had no idea where this house was, we were driving around looking for clues.”

She was clearly frustrated that she had to take the lead when she felt police weren’t doing enough. “I was doing this before the police, why was it not the police? I don’t understand.”

Jay’s disappearance gripped the nation, with his family and friends desperately trying to piece together what happened. His body was eventually discovered by the Spanish Civil Guard in a remote and steep part of the island, near the village of Masca, on July 15.

A post-mortem confirmed that Jay died from a severe head injury. An inquest later revealed that the injuries were consistent with a fall, suggesting he had tragically fallen in the rugged terrain during his final hours.

The circumstances of Jay’s death remain deeply unsettling, and his friend’s recent comments only add more questions to an already heartbreaking mystery.
