Sebastien Bowen Spotted with New Love Three Years After Bowelbabe’s Death
You know, it’s been a fair old while since we said goodbye to Dame Deborah, hasn’t it? Back in June 2022, she left us after a valiant five-year fight with stage four bowel cancer, aged just 40. She was an absolute force of nature, our Bowelbabe, raising a staggering £11 million for cancer research and really smashing down those taboos around illness with her brilliant BBC podcast, ‘You, Me and the Big C’. What a legend.
So, it’s quite something to hear that her husband, Sebastien Bowen, who’s 45, was recently spotted out and about in west London. He was seen hand-in-hand, having a lovely sunny afternoon stroll along the Thames with a new partner. They were apparently seen walking arm-in-arm, heading towards Barnes after scoffing down some lunch at The River Café in Hammersmith. For those not in the know, that’s a proper celebrity hangout, where even Jamie Oliver got his start! Good for him, honestly.

Now, this is the really heartwarming bit. Before Dame Deborah passed away, she actually gave Sebastien her blessing to move on. Can you imagine? She even had a bit of a laugh about it, telling him to steer clear of “bimbos” and find someone who could genuinely make him laugh, just like she did. What a woman.
She spoke so openly in her final months, saying: “He’s a handsome man… I’ve told him: ‘Don’t be taken for a ride.’ I want him to be happy. I want him to move on.” Honestly, that just shows you the pure class of her.
Sebastien, who’s in finance, and Dame Deborah met back in 2005 and tied the knot in 2008. They had two kids together, and he’s largely kept himself out of the limelight since her death. But word on the street was he’d quietly started dating again late last year.

And a family friend piped up, saying: “It’s still early days, but Deborah will always be part of Seb’s story. She wanted him to live, to laugh, to love again and he’s doing just that.” You can’t really argue with that, can you? It’s exactly what she would have wanted.
Even Dame Deborah’s mum, Heather, said last year that Deborah would be a “very tough act to follow” but that Sebastien had the family’s blessing to find happiness again. It sounds like everyone’s just chuffed for him to be finding a bit of joy.
It’s a tough old world, and losing someone like Deborah must have been absolutely devastating. So, for Sebastien to be finding some light again, well, that’s just a lovely bit of news, isn’t it?
