Royal Fans Spot What King Charles Didn’t Say and It Has Everyone Talking

King Charles has got people talking again, but this time it’s not what he said — it’s what he didn’t say. While hosting French President Emmanuel Macron at a grand State Banquet this week, the King delivered a warm speech that included a very public nod to his eldest son, Prince William.

As he spoke about Windsor Castle and its rich history, His Majesty said, “The Castle in which we meet this evening was begun by my ancestor – and your sometime countryman – William, Duke of Normandy, in the year 1070.”

He went on to note, “It remains the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world.” Then came the part that’s raised eyebrows across the country, reported Parade.

Charles continued, “So it is perhaps rather appropriate that my son, The Prince of Wales, who shares that earlier William’s name, has made Windsor his home with his family, like so many of our predecessors.”

While the tribute to Prince William was undeniably touching, it didn’t go unnoticed that there was no mention of Prince Harry anywhere in the speech. Not even a passing reference.

Harry, of course, stepped down from his role as a senior royal in 2020 and relocated to California with his wife Meghan Markle and their son Archie. The couple have since welcomed a daughter, Princess Lilibet, and spent the last few years carving out a new life away from royal duties.

Things between Harry and the Royal Family have been tense ever since. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made several public statements and appearances, opening up about their difficult experience within the institution. They accused unnamed royals of making racist remarks about their son before he was born and shared other concerns in their infamous interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Since then, the rift has only deepened, with Harry returning to the UK just a handful of times for major family events — often without Meghan and usually only briefly.

So when King Charles chose to speak openly and warmly about William and his role at Windsor, while not saying a single word about Harry, it left a lot of people wondering whether the silence spoke louder than anything else.

Some royal watchers have taken it as a clear message that Charles is fully aligning himself with the future of the monarchy — William, Kate and their children — while keeping a noticeable distance from the son who stepped away.

There’s been no official comment from Buckingham Palace or the Sussexes regarding the banquet speech, but social media lit up with speculation almost immediately.

Many fans praised the King for honoring Prince William, but others couldn’t help but feel the absence of Harry’s name was more than just a coincidence.
