Princess Eugenie makes a royal appearance as she leaves a quiet but powerful impact

Princess Eugenie stepped into the spotlight this week as she reaffirmed her dedication to fighting human trafficking and modern slavery during a powerful visit to a Salvation Army safe house that supports female survivors of exploitation.

The royal, who co-founded the Anti-Slavery Collective in 2017, toured the facility which offers shelter and support to up to 32 women. The safe house includes critical services such as a gym, sensory room, multi-faith space, and counselling areas designed to aid recovery and rehabilitation.

During her visit, Princess Eugenie met with staff and residents and even participated in a craft session with survivors — a moment she described as both moving and inspiring.

“Today I went on a wonderful tour of this wonderful safe house,” Eugenie said, according to GB News. “I think it’s really important that people [know] human trafficking and modern slavery exist today.”

She went on to emphasize the necessity of supporting survivors, adding, “People deserve to be looked after and helped and supported.” The Princess praised the commitment of those working at the safe house, calling them “incredible” and “so dedicated” to their mission.

“The staff are just incredible at what they do, they’re so dedicated,” she said. “The survivors I’ve met, their lives are changed because of the Salvation Army’s intervention.”

Eugenie highlighted the significant role The Salvation Army played in her own understanding of the issue. “I wanted to make a difference and educate people about that this [is] happening, and the Salvation Army were a huge part of my learning of this subject.”

She also called for greater collaboration among organizations combating modern slavery: “It’s so important that charities like the Salvation Army and my charity, the Anti-Slavery Collective, work together to support and make a difference and make a change.”

Eugenie’s appearance comes as speculation grows around her and her sister Princess Beatrice’s future roles within the monarchy. Reports suggest that Prince William may consider enlisting their support once he becomes king, despite King Charles’ ongoing efforts to streamline the royal family.

As the monarchy continues to evolve, Princess Eugenie’s hands-on advocacy and consistent public engagement may position her as a valuable asset to the institution — particularly in causes aligned with her long-standing commitment to human rights and social justice.
