Lorraine kelly breaks down as beloved producer is honored by the King and the moment is just perfect

There was a heartwarming moment on Monday’s episode of Lorraine as the ITV presenter shared some brilliant news with viewers. Before her show even kicked off, Lorraine joined Good Morning Britain to let Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley in on the excitement, saying: “We have some good news, some really good news.

We are celebrating our producer, Helen. The founder of the course of our Change and Check breast cancer campaign. She is being honored with an MBE and we couldn’t be more delighted.”

As the program started, Lorraine revealed that Helen Addis had been included in this year’s King’s Honors Birthday list for her tireless work raising awareness around breast cancer and fundraising for cancer charities. Clearly bursting with pride, Lorraine brought Helen into the studio with cheers and a big hug, reported the Express.

Helen shared how her journey began back in 2018 with a moment that changed everything. “Yeah, in 2018 I found a lump when I was getting ready to come into work in the morning. Had a shower, found a lump, and yeah, that absolutely turned my world upside down.”

Lorraine praised her colleague, saying, “It did, and you were fantastic all the way through. I know you don’t like us saying that, but you were. Of course, from your own experience comes this amazing campaign.”

Dr Hilary was also on the sofa and joined in the celebration, calling Helen’s award well deserved. Lorraine chimed in again with a huge smile, “It really is. I’m so happy!”

The segment took a moment to look back at all the incredible things the team has done over the years as part of their breast cancer awareness work. There was the famous Boob Bus travelling around the country, a climb up the O2, and even a hot air balloon adventure — all designed to get people talking, checking, and taking breast health seriously.

And it hasn’t just stopped at awareness. Their choir project, made up of women who have all been touched by breast cancer, has had real success — reaching number one on the UK download charts with Joss Stone leading the vocals. More recently, they hit the top again after teaming up with Marti Pellow.

“We ended up in the Royal Variety show!” Lorraine laughed. “I was on stage singing, I mean, it’s ridiculous!”

Just last month, that same choir was invited to perform at Buckingham Palace in front of the King and Queen at a special cancer awareness event.

Helen, clearly overwhelmed but beaming with joy, said: “Secretly, I feel like I’ve had an MBE right from the start because I felt like I’ve been a member of the boob empire! Now, I feel like I’ve actually got a recognition for it, it’s amazing.”

It was a touching moment of celebration for a woman who’s turned her personal battle into something that’s made a real difference to so many lives — and you could see how proud the whole team was.
