Rylan Clark left stunned after astrologer’s brutal prediction in India

Rylan Clark has revealed that a top astrologer in India left him shaken after making predictions he really didn’t want to hear.

The 36-year-old presenter was back on BBC Radio 2 chatting with former X Factor star Diana Vickers when he opened up about the encounter during filming for his new Grand Tour series with Rob Rinder. The first episode of the show aired last night, with more to come.

After telling Diana he knew she was into astrology and crystals, Rylan shared: “You are going to love this because I need to tell you. I went to see one of India’s top astrologists in Jaipur. I was all for it. I don’t want to give anything away. It will be in episode two. I have never been more upset at what he told me”, reported the Manchester Evening News.

He went on to explain that the astrologer’s words felt like both a health warning and a character assassination. “I was like, ‘oh my god we have to do it’ and I’ve never been more upset. He basically said I’ve got gout. He said you are going to get gout and I’m a horrible person. I’m like, hang on a minute!”

Diana burst out laughing, telling him that was “not ok”, while Rylan insisted he didn’t want to spoil too much more before the episode airs.

Diana also shared one of her own fortune-telling stories. She admitted she had once given tarot card readings on a Barcelona beach after a few too many glasses of wine. “These girlies came over and were like, ‘oh, can we have a tarot reading?’ I was like, ‘absolutely’, you know, one too many wines. This girl is like, ‘I’m really excited about my new job’ and I was like, ‘yeah, I will do one now.’ Babe, I was like, ‘you’re gonna lose your job.’ It was like the worst card but feeling drunk and sassy I was like, ‘hun, it doesn’t look good.’”

Rylan laughed at the tale before moving the conversation back to his travels.

For the latest series of their Grand Tour, he and Rob Rinder explored India’s sights and traditions after bonding during their trip to Italy last year. Away from the fun, the journey made Rylan reflect on his family, especially his mum Linda.

Speaking to Radio Times, he admitted: “I’m more worried about losing my mum than losing my own life. I feel like coming back from Varanasi was eye-opening. It made me realise I’ve just got to enjoy things I’m doing, and if I’m not enjoying it, then don’t f***ing do it.”

Rob also confessed the trip had made him think about his own fears. “The dark shadow of death and fear of it is a present force and has always been for me. The looming idea it’s going to end. The unknown is the great terror.”
