Prince Harry slammed as hypocrite after posing for photos with fans in UK

Prince Harry has been called out for stopping to pose with fans during his recent visit to the UK. The Duke of Sussex, who returned home to attend the WellChild Awards on Monday, was later spotted outside a recording studio in Nottingham where he happily posed for pictures with admirers.

But not everyone was impressed. Royal expert Hugo Vickers told The Sun: “He’s so hypocritical about all these things.”

Vickers suggested Harry’s complaints about security don’t match up with his public behavior. “But the nice thing is to see him doing something for someone else instead of for himself for once,” he said, before adding: “His whole sort of thing about suing the Home Office for blanket security is ridiculous. He would be protected anyway within the ring if he attended joint events here.”

Harry has previously launched legal action against the Home Office after being denied automatic police protection whenever he is in the UK. He argued that he should be entitled to the same level of security as other royals, despite stepping back from official duties in 2020.

Vickers dismissed those claims, pointing out that extra protection is simply not realistic. “He would be protected, if he was in any danger, but he cannot have 365 day protection at vast expense from the taxpayer when he’s not even in the country,” he explained.

Despite his criticism, Vickers still played down the risks Harry faces while in Britain. “But I’m sure he’s perfectly safe and he’ll make it back to California in one piece,” he said.

The photos outside the Nottingham studio, which quickly made the rounds on social media, show Harry in good spirits with fans. Yet the snaps have reignited the debate about his push for full-time security and whether he’s really at risk while back in the UK.
