Donald Trump finishes last in golf game with roger clemens despite boasting of victories
Retired baseball legend Roger Clemens has revealed that Donald Trump came last during their weekend golf match, even though the former president has spent much of the year bragging about his wins on the course.
Clemens, who has been backed by Trump in his bid for a place in the Baseball Hall of Fame, posted the official scorecard from their round at Trump National Golf Club in Virginia. His caption was flattering enough, insisting, “Mr. President didn’t miss a fairway!!” But the numbers told a different story.
Clemens’ son Kacy, 31, topped the table with a tidy 69, followed by club director John O’Leary with 71. Clemens himself, listed as “Rocket,” scored 76. Trump, signing off with his trademark Sharpie and the nickname “45/47,” finished last on 77. For a man whose handicap is said to be 2.8, it was a disappointing finish.

The result undercuts Trump’s long-running claims of victory at his own clubs. Earlier this year, he was declared the winner of the Senior Club Championship at his Trump International course in West Palm Beach, though local press suggested nobody had actually seen him play, Palm Beach Post claimed.
He also claimed the Golf Club Championship at another Palm Beach course in March, and in April boasted of winning the Senior Club Championship in Jupiter, Florida.
At the time, Trump was quick to remind reporters, “It’s good to win. You heard I won, right? Did you hear I won? Just to back it up from there, I won. I like to win.”
More recently, the White House itself shared his victory scorecard from the Men’s Senior Club Championship at his Bedminster, New Jersey course, declaring him a winner once again. The post was captioned, “Winning on and off the course.”
But questions about how those wins came about have lingered. Footage has circulated showing caddies apparently “dropping” balls in Trump’s favour, prompting fresh allegations of cheating.
Rick Reilly, author of Commander in Cheat: How Golf Explains Trump, wrote on X: “So you know, it’s NEVER legal for your caddy to drop a ball. YOU can drop one, but never on a green. And since this was a full-score event, it’s not legal for Trump to drag the ball into the hole.” He added bluntly, “Our president is a f—ing golf cheat.”

While defending Clemens’ legacy on Truth Social after their game, Trump turned his focus back to baseball. He dismissed long-standing steroid allegations against the seven-time Cy Young Award winner, saying: “People think he took drugs, but nothing was proven. He never tested positive, and Roger, from the very beginning, totally denies it. He was just as great before those erroneous charges were leveled at him.”
Trump called for Clemens’ immediate induction into the Hall of Fame, demanding, “354 Wins—Put him in NOW. He and his great family should not be forced to endure this ‘stupidity’ any longer!”
Clemens backed Trump’s defence, reposting the statement with his own words: “DT knows more than anyone the fake news that’s out there. Everyone has their agendas… I played the game to change my family’s direction generationally and to WIN!”
