Good Morning Britain viewers say same thing after Kate Garraway and Adil ray return
Good Morning Britain fans were left unimpressed on Wednesday morning, with many claiming the show had become “unwatchable.”
Kate Garraway and Adil Ray fronted the ITV breakfast programme, joined by Sean Fletcher on the news desk and Laura Tobin delivering the weather. They covered stories including asylum seekers facing hotel evictions, added service fees at pubs, and a mother’s emotional call for tougher rules on young drivers after her 17-year-old son died alongside three friends in a crash.
But despite the serious news agenda, plenty of viewers were more focused on the presenters, with frustration spilling across social media. The Mirror reports that the heated discussion on the government’s asylum policy was particularly divisive.
One person posted on X, formerly Twitter: “I can usually watch this but this is just unwatchable.” Another added: “45 minutes of ITV nonsense.” A third chipped in: “Goodness, the show is a tough listen these days.” Someone else was blunter: “Kate and Adil, thanks for the heads up, time to turn over. No chance.”

Another viewer even compared the show’s fortunes to a sinking ship, writing: “GMB is so out of touch with the views of the British public, that’s why GMB is sinking quicker than the Titanic.”
It’s not the first time this week that the ITV breakfast staple has been hit by complaints. Adil recently returned after a long absence, but his comeback has been met with a mixed reaction. Earlier in the week he clashed with Joey Essex during what was meant to be a light-hearted interview, reported the Daily Record.
Instead, the exchange left viewers wincing as Adil referred to Joey as a “baked bean” while quizzing him about an upcoming boxing match and his potential earnings. Many thought the tone was off, with one person saying online: “I’ve just watched the worst interview ever recorded on TV. Adil Ray trying to be funny and belittling Joey Essex. Cringe.”
The reaction shows just how divided viewers are when it comes to the current GMB line-up. Some are still tuning in for the news, weather and debates, while others say the chemistry isn’t working and the show feels increasingly hard to watch.
Whether the backlash will spark any changes at ITV remains to be seen, but for now the network is sticking with its current roster of rotating presenters, even if plenty of fans say they’re reaching for the remote.
