ITV Star Admits She’s Eyeing This Morning Job as Olivia Attwood Gets Set to Step In

Since Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard took over This Morning in 2024, the show has seen a mix of guest presenters helping out on the iconic sofa. Familiar faces like Rochelle Humes, Emma Willis, Rylan Clark and Paddy McGuinness have all stepped in when needed, keeping things fresh for viewers.

But it seems one familiar face is ready to go all-in for a permanent spot. Ashley James, former Made in Chelsea star turned broadcaster, has made it no secret that she’s set her sights on landing the top job. Speaking to The Sun, she admitted, “I’ve always said that I’m always there when the time comes. I would always love to host This Morning.”

Ashley’s journey into TV didn’t follow the usual path. The 38-year-old looked back on how she started her career in 2012 without any connections in the entertainment world. “I kind of follow where my interests are, and it’s got me to where I am today, and I’m always going to work harder than anyone else,” she said, reported the Mirror.

She revealed that even back then, her dream was to be part of This Morning. “I wanted to be on This Morning because it’s a show that I grew up idolising. It was the goal,” she explained. “So I love it and it’s such an amazing team. I love everybody that’s on there, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes.”

Ashley might not have taken on the full presenter role just yet, but viewers have seen plenty of her as a guest panellist, often sharing her opinions on current issues alongside names like Nick Ferrari. Her ambition for the top job remains crystal clear, and she’s already a regular presence on the show.

In the meantime, another new face is gearing up for a shot at the main gig. ITV recently announced that Love Island star and Loose Women panellist Olivia Attwood will be joining This Morning as a host over the summer. Chatting with Ben and Cat about her upcoming appearance, Olivia couldn’t hide her excitement.

“I’m going to be doing a couple of shows in the summer, I’m very excited to be joining you guys,” she said. “It’s a huge honour, I’ve obviously grown up watching this show and being part of the Daytime team with the Loose Women has been the best experience and this just feels like a very natural progression of that.”

Ben and Cat were quick to offer their support, saying she’ll be “brilliant” in the role.

With Olivia stepping in for summer and Ashley clearly keen for a bigger role, it looks like This Morning could be set for even more changes. As the show continues to evolve with a rotating line-up, fans might just be seeing the beginning of a new chapter – and a new permanent face – on the famous sofa.
