Prince Andrew Accused of Treatment of Royal Staff in New Book
Prince Andrew’s behavior towards royal staff has been exposed in a new tell-all book by author Andrew Morton, who paints a deeply unflattering picture of the Duke of York’s attitude behind palace walls.
Morton, who has previously written explosive biographies of members of the Royal Family, claims Andrew has a history of treating staff with little respect. “Andrew was particularly horrible to staff; he doesn’t seem to see them as normal people,” he said, reported the Daily Record.
According to Morton, the Duke viewed those around him as nothing more than subordinates. “He treats them as basically subordinates to be bossed around. I think he’s very narcissistic and everything is about him,” the author told reporters.

Some of the claims are jaw-dropping. Morton alleges that Andrew would call on his protection officer to retrieve his golf balls after hitting them down the fairway, instead of picking them up himself. He is also said to have summoned maids from four floors away just to open his curtains, and even expected staff to pick up his used tissues when he dropped them on the floor.
These revelations come as Andrew faces renewed public scrutiny, with the book set to reignite debate over his reputation and position within the monarchy. Morton’s portrayal adds to a long list of controversies surrounding the Duke, whose standing in the Royal Family has been severely diminished in recent years.

For many, these stories of arrogance and entitlement only fuel existing criticisms of his character. The Duke, who has been largely absent from public duties, now finds himself once again the subject of headlines, though not for reasons he would welcome.
