King Charles’ Decision on Zara and Mike Tindall’s Royal Future Revealed
A former royal butler has shared King Charles’ plans for Princess Anne’s daughter Zara Tindall and her husband, Mike Tindall, revealing that they won’t be taking on any royal duties in the future. Grant Harrold, who previously worked as a butler to the royal family, explained that despite Zara and Mike being incredibly popular with the public, the King has no intentions of making them working royals.
There had been speculation that Prince William might ask Zara and Mike to help him with royal responsibilities as he takes on a larger role in the monarchy, especially with the absence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

However, speaking to Prime Casino, Harrold clarified that while Prince William may choose to go down a different path, King Charles remains committed to maintaining a slimmed-down monarchy. “I don’t think we’ll see Zara and Mike pick up any more royal duties,” Harrold said, reported the Royal Insider.
He continued, “They’re not currently working royals – of course, we see them at events and supporting the king, we always will, but as for increasing their presence, I don’t think they will.” According to Harrold, Mike Tindall is not interested in taking on more formal royal duties.
“The fact that we see them more informally is what I think makes them so likeable, Zara and Mike are relatable.” Harrold went on to explain that King Charles is focused on scaling back royal duties, meaning there’s no need for Zara and Mike to increase their involvement.
However, the former butler did acknowledge that things could change in the future when Prince William becomes king. “When William is king and there is a younger royal family, who knows? That could be a different story,” Harrold said.

“It’s thought he’s going to keep it small going forward, but you never know.” For now, though, it seems that Zara and Mike will continue to remain on the sidelines, supporting the royal family in a more informal, relatable way.
While the Tindalls’ future royal roles remain uncertain, one thing is clear: they’ve carved out a niche for themselves as a down-to-earth couple that the public can connect with. Whether or not that changes under a future king remains to be seen.
