It turns out Prince Harry may have brushed aside some serious family advice before marrying Meghan Markle, according to fresh claims.

Back in 2018, Harry and Meghan’s whirlwind romance was the talk of the world, but now it’s emerging that not everyone was convinced they were moving at the right pace. According to royal expert Rebecca English, speaking on the Palace Confidential programme from the Daily Mail, members of the Royal Family – including Prince William – apparently raised concerns about how fast things were moving.

“I know from my own sources that there were strong reservations, that they felt, all of the family felt that Harry was rushing into this too quickly and needed, as we now know, William memorably said to him, ‘Maybe you just need to take a little bit of time to get to know this woman and plan your future more,’” she said, reported the Express.

That warning, it seems, fell on deaf ears. As English points out, Harry was eager to start a new chapter in life and wasn’t willing to slow things down. “But he was so desperate to settle down and start a family, and he as a person fell in love very quickly, that he just didn’t want to do that,” she added.

This revelation adds yet another layer to the already complex relationship between the Sussexes and the rest of the Royal Family. The couple’s departure from royal duties in 2020, often referred to as “Megxit”, marked the start of a public rift. Alongside stepping back from their roles, Harry and Meghan made serious accusations against the Royal Family, including claims of racism aimed at their son, Prince Archie.
