BBC Host Breaks Down in Giggles Trying to Say This Hilarious Book Title

It was a giggle-filled moment on Thursday morning’s BBC Breakfast as Naga Munchetty struggled to keep a straight face while introducing a guest – and things quickly spiraled from there.

The live show featured author and former doctor Adam Kay, who was on to chat about his latest children’s book. But before they could even get into the discussion, things took an amusing turn.

Charlie Stayt kicked things off with a smooth intro, saying, “Having worked as a doctor, Adam Kay often draws on medical themes for his comedy and writing. His latest feature book aimed at children is no different.”

All good so far – until Naga jumped in to announce the title. With a completely straight face, she attempted, “Simon Gets Sneezed–” but then just stopped, unable to finish, reported the Daily Record.

Whatever it was about the phrase, it had her in absolute stitches. She tried again, still laughing, but no luck. At that point, Charlie jumped in like a good sport and encouraged her with a chuckle, “Have another go!”

Adam, who could be heard laughing off-camera, didn’t make things any easier. Naga, still caught in a fit of laughter, eventually gave up altogether and handed it over to the author with a grin, “Adam, can you just do it?!”

Taking it in stride, Adam finally told the viewers, “It’s called Simon Gets Sneezed,” clearing things up once and for all.

Charlie couldn’t help but poke a bit of fun at his co-host, telling Adam, “You said it very nicely!” to which Naga added with a laugh, “Yeah, you did.”

After the giggles calmed down, Naga managed to pull it together long enough to give viewers a bit more info. She explained that Simon, the star of the book, is actually a little blob of snot who lives inside someone’s nose. Charming, right?

Adam chimed in to say, “This is my second picture book, for kids three to six sort of age, explaining how bits of the body work and what’s more important than snot?!”

Charlie noted how young children tend to find snot absolutely fascinating – which, let’s be honest, they do.

Adam agreed wholeheartedly, saying, “It’s important stuff.”

He went on to explain that while the topic might sound silly, the science behind it is real and helpful for young minds. “Your immune system is there, it’s stopping pollution getting in, it’s stopping all these allergens,” he said.

“So we can explain some reasonably complicated things for children who are asking their grown-ups, who probably don’t know the answers.”

The moment may have started with a mispronounced title and a case of the giggles, but it turned into a charming and informative segment – with plenty of laughs along the way.

Leave it to live telly and a book about snot to create the most delightfully British TV moment of the morning.
