5 ways to Start your Fitness Journey

Published on

Starting your fitness journey can seem a little daunting … actually I’ve been there once or twice.

The good news is it doesn’t have to be overwhelming: here are some of my top tips to help you start (or start over) your fitness journey!

Commit to yourself and set realistic goals for yourself

Start your fitness journey with a commitment to yourself. If you are not 100% committed to yourself, you will not be able to achieve your goals. Strive for success to meet your fitness goals. At the end of the day, you have to be your own greatest cheerleader!

Commitment to yourself involves setting both small, short-term and long-term goals. It is important to think realistically and not to overwhelm yourself. I recommend setting 2-3 small, short-term goals that will help you achieve your long-term goals. Your goal performance will peak when you are connected, and beyond that, it will help you achieve those tougher goals.

Find a training partner

If you feel like you need a little more kick-start to stick with your exercise routine, why not get a workout partner? Bring a friend, partner, neighbor, or even someone you meet on your fitness journey. There are so many benefits to exercising with a partner!

You will get bored less and stop.
You will do even more to achieve your goals.
You force yourself to work harder.
You will have more fun!

Something is always better than nothing

As I mentioned earlier, don’t be too strict with yourself, you won’t fail if you skip physical education. There may be days when you are uncomfortable and that’s fine; On days like these, you can keep your body moving by taking a brisk 30-minute walk (I recommend going for your morning coffee) or riding a bike with a friend. Low intensity sessions like these will help your muscles recover while your heart keeps beating!

Hire a personal trainer

There are many reasons why you can benefit from hiring a personal trainer throughout your fitness journey! And if you always thought you had to go to the gym to work out with someone, think again. Today there are mobile personal trainers who come to your home or want to meet you in a park; This is a great way to incorporate fitness into your busy days. Finding the right one will make you feel like you are working with a friend!

Working with a personal trainer has some great advantages:

Knowledge is power - it can educate you about all aspects of health, fitness, and exercise.
They can help you set realistic short and long term goals.
They blame you for your fitness routine.
They meet your personal needs.
They will help you perfect your shape to maximize results.

Consistency is the key

There is no denying that consistency is the most important component in achieving your goals. Without consistency, your workouts could be all over the place and your body may have a harder time adjusting.

Trust the process

As the ancients say … Rome wasn’t built in a day! There are no shortcuts in fitness; It takes hard work, dedication, and most of all, patience.

Just go one step at a time. Remember that fitness is a journey, not a destination. Trust the process – there may be some glitches or bumps along the way, but if you rely on all your efforts, you will achieve your ultimate goal.

So what are you waiting for? Your fitness journey starts now!
