Oscar-winning actor Jamie Foxx has made his first public appearance since his hospitalization in April 2023 for undisclosed “medical complications.” The 55-year-old actor was spotted on a boat in the Chicago River, smiling and waving at fans, as captured in footage obtained by TMZ.

Foxx’s hospitalization was initially revealed by his daughter, Corinne Foxx, on April 12, who shared the news on social media, stating, “We wanted to share that my father, Jamie Foxx, experienced a medical complication yesterday.” While the family has chosen to keep the cause of his hospital stay private, Foxx’s representatives were quick to dismiss online conspiracy theories linking it to the COVID vaccine, calling such claims “completely inaccurate.”

In May, Corinne Foxx addressed online rumors and expressed her frustration with the media’s sensationalism, stating on an Instagram story, “Sad to see how the media runs wild. My Dad has been out of the hospital for weeks and is recuperating. In fact, he was playing pickleball yesterday!”

Foxx himself broke his silence in May, expressing his appreciation for the support he received and stating on social media, “Appreciate all the love! Feeling blessed.” Since then, he has maintained a private stance regarding his health, making his recent public appearance a source of relief for his fans who are glad to see him looking well and enjoying himself.
