DeSantis Is Already Polling So Well for President That ‘He’s Only 5 Points Away From Trump Calling It Rigged’: Fallon

According to new polling, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis seems to be a credible challenger against twice impeached former President Donald Trump in 2024. With such polling, Jimmy Fallon thinks Trump is already collecting his regular election lies.

Though DeSantis hasn’t officially proclaimed his intention to run for president in 2024, many commentators believe he will, though most are doubtful of who the GOP as a whole will vote for.

According to The Hill, a new Harvard CAPS-Harris Poll poll found that the Florida governor’s standing in a hypothetical primary with Trump has increased by 11 points since last month, while Trump’s has dropped by nine points.

“This is how close DeSantis is: he’s only five points away from Trump calling it rigged,” Fallon joked. “That’s close. That’s close.”

In reality, DeSantis’ current status polls at 28%, while Trump remains at 46%. However, the survey is for a hypothetical primary that is more than a year away. However, it appears that Trump’s hold on the party has weakened, especially after the majority of the candidates he endorsed for the midterm elections lost their bids.

“Trump can’t be happy. On Thanksgiving, he won’t know whether to throw ketchup against the wall or gravy,” Fallon mocked. “Yeah, he doesn’t know.”

The “Tonight Show” host has used ketchup in many of his monologue punchlines recently, joking earlier this week that the special counsel appointed to oversee multiple criminal investigations into Trump has all the evidence he needs because Trump’s fingerprints were enshrined in ketchup on the documents he took to Mar-a-Lago.

Fallon is, of course, referring to Cassidy Hutchison’s January 6 committee testimony, in which she revealed that after an interview with The Associated Press in December 2020 in which William Barr said there was no widespread voter fraud, Trump was so enraged that he threw his plate of food, leaving “ketchup dripping down the wall.”
