Peter Andre Praises Alison Hammond’s Weight Loss Journey Amid Jab Debate

Peter Andre has praised his friend Alison Hammond for her impressive 13-stone weight loss, sharing his support and insights as public discussion continues around celebrity transformations and the use of weight loss injections.

Alison, 49, decided to overhaul her lifestyle after receiving a pre-diabetic diagnosis and losing her mother, Maria, to type 2 diabetes in 2020. Once weighing 28 stone, the This Morning presenter made significant changes to her routine, focusing on sustainable health improvements through exercise and mindful eating, as told to The Mirror.

Writing in his column, Peter Andre, who has also faced speculation over his own weight loss, said: “Alison Hammond is looking amazing and she’s spoken about not using weight-loss jabs. She obviously feels fantastic and I don’t think it’s anyone else’s business when it comes to the injections – we shouldn’t force people into discussing it.”

He continued: “I don’t know why we think everyone must say what they did or didn’t do. Alison is a good friend who has put the work in and done it the hard way, which is impressive. But I’d never judge anyone for taking the injections – it’s none of my business.”

Peter himself was previously the subject of online concern when he appeared significantly slimmer in a 2019 Instagram video. Fans questioned whether his weight loss was due to health issues, prompting him to clarify: “I run. Feeling better than ever.”

Alison has openly discussed her approach to weight loss, which includes working with a personal trainer, walking when she’s busy, and incorporating weights, pilates, and yoga into her home fitness regimen. She emphasized the importance of balance over restriction, telling Plymouth Live: “I don’t deny myself anything. I eat everything, but in moderation.”

In an interview with Women’s Health, Alison shared that her mother’s health struggles were a wake-up call: “My mum had type 2 diabetes and she was worried for me. When I found out I was pre-diabetic, that was frightening. I thought: ‘I have to be an adult about this.’ The sweets had to stop – and the fatty foods.”

Her efforts paid off, as Alison has now reversed her pre-diabetic condition. “I’m no longer pre-diabetic, so I’m a bit naughtier with my food now,” she said, adding: “I love my new shape… I mean, look at me, I’m a bombshell.”

While Alison avoided weight loss medication due to “scare stories,” she said she “wouldn’t look down on anyone who did.” The TV presenter, currently dating 27-year-old masseur David Putman, playfully teased future wedding plans, joking: “I’d never say no. I might marry myself!”
