Saturday Night Live poked fun at Trump’s midterm elections during the cold opening of the show

“According to a company-wide email we received this morning, he’s dead to us,” Bowen Yang’s “Brian Kilmeade” declares after his endorsed candidates bombed in the midterms.

“Mr. President, we’ve moved on.” “We can’t have you on the show any longer,” Heidi Garner’s Ainsley Earhardt chirpily informed a bemused “Donald Trump” on a “Saturday Night Live” parody of “Fox & Friends.”

“What? “What did I do?” the dumped Trump (James Austin Johnson) wondered after his endorsed candidates failed miserably in the midterm elections. “Was it the insurgency?”

In the cold open, Trump desperately promised a “big announcement” if the Fox News crew would just pay attention to him. He even skipped his daughter Tiffany’s wedding (“Missed it!”) in order to get more airtime.

“And, according to a company-wide email we received this morning, he’s dead to us,” Bowen Yang’s Brian Kilmeade informed his co-hosts.

The trio mocked “Trump” with the front-page headline of the New York Post: “Trumpty Dumpty.”

Kari Lake, one of Cecily Strong’s candidates, was still in the running (who in the real world was trailing Democrat Katie Hobbs in the tight Arizona gubernatorial race on Saturday night).

“I believe the election was rigged, and the results should be overturned,” “Lake,” told the “Fox & Friends” crew.

But when she realized she was suddenly in the lead, she changed her tune: “Which is why I have always said, this is a democracy.” Believe in the system. “Trust the voters.”

She stated that she would wait “until every vote is counted and then some votes are taken away.”

If it didn’t work out, “Lake” threatened to “burn Arizona to the ground.”
